Paint black holes with light!
The Round Tower, August 22, 12:00–16:00

Ready to meet a black hole? Join us at the Round Tower for a family-friendly workshop where science and art collide! Children of all ages can discover the mysteries of black holes with real scientists from the Center of Gravity at the Niels Bohr Institute. Start by exploring what black holes are through fun talks led by experts. Then let your imagination take over as you draw your own black holes with crayons before creating glowing works of art by painting with light. Along the way, you'll experiment, ask big questions, and uncover cosmic surprises through hands-on activities. Whether you're an aspiring astronaut, an artist, or simply curious about the universe, there's something for everyone. Come create, explore, and discover the invisible wonders of space!

Black Hole Week (Stardust performance), 2026

Your Borrowed Stardust
KoncertKirken, Blågårds Plads, August 26, 20:00–23:15

An immersive live performance connecting us to the edge of black holes, weaving movement, spoken word, live music, and installation. As an audience, you will be invited to inhabit the shared space and participate as we venture towards cosmological scales. Three opportunities in one night, three journeys into the unknown, each its own perturbation, each being a unique signal. Choose your entry on the 26th of August: Primordial 20:00–20:45; Binary 21:15–22:00; Collision 22:30–23:15 (incl. bar reception afterwards). Holding us at the event horizon, this performance is an invitation to journey playfully into how we generate meaning as part of our cosmos. Buy your tickets here

Black Hole Week (Gravity Unleashed at the Round Tower), 2026

Black Holes: When Light Falls In
The Round Tower, August 26, 19:00

Black holes are among the most fascinating and mysterious objects in the universe. They bend space and time, trap light, and challenge everything we know about physics. But what exactly are black holes, and how can we study something that cannot be seen? Join us at the Round Tower for an inspiring evening talk with Dr. Lorena Magaña Zertuche from the Niels Bohr Institute as we explore how black holes form, what happens when light falls into them, and how scientists use cutting-edge technology to uncover the secrets of these cosmic giants, offering a fascinating glimpse into one of nature's greatest mysteries and the discoveries that are reshaping our understanding of the cosmos.

Black Hole Week (Film: Between Science and Fiction), 2026

Between Science and Fiction
Gloria Biograf (Date/Time TBC)

Where does science end and science fiction begin? Join us at Gloria Biograf where physicists of the Center of Gravity will introduce a movie and explain the real science of gravity, exploring how these scientific ideas, together with our understanding of the universe around us, inspire the worlds we imagine on the screen.

Black Hole Week (Science and Cocktails), 2026

Science & Cocktails
DR Koncerthuset, August 29, 19:00

Come and join us for a cocktail, while some of the world-leading figures in science explain what black holes are, how we see them and why we want to know them. A mojito will do. More information can be found here
