With a loud and joyous bang, the 2026 edition of the Black Hole Week came to an end last night. The week of events celebrating black holes reached all corners of Copenhagen, from the iconic Round Tower to the DR Koncerthuset to Kongens Nytorv, with stops at the Comic Garden, Gloria Biogtraf, KoncertKirken, the Planetarium, and the Opera Festival. A special thanks goes to our amazing team who made this possible: Ana, Ariadna, Emily, Fanny, Guangzi, Jose, Leart, Lorena, Lucía, Marica, Rico, Rodrigo, Simon and Vitor. We extend our thanks to Johan Samsing, Marta Orselli, Niels Obers and Troels Harmark for their invaluable help. And a big thank you to the lovely city of Copenhagen. See you in 2028!

The Black Hole Week ended tonight with a thousand of stars (read: Copenhagers) congregating at the DR Koncerthuset to hear six different perspectives on Black Holes. On stage, Alessandra Buonanno, Alexandru Lupsasca, Clifford Johnson, Sera Markoff, Vitor Cardoso and Jay Armas delivered an entrancing conversation centered around these mysterious objects in our universe. The discussion continued in the foyer, with black hole themed cocktails and the sound of electronic pop and techno music by MØR.

Not a slow day in this Black Hole Week. Members of our team joined efforts and participated in the DHL relay. There was much cheering, fun aplenty, and personal records broken. Congratulations to all. You did the CoG proud!

Today, we held tight onto our chairs, as we followed Sandra Bullock into the vastness of space in Alfonso Cuarón’s visually stunning film Gravity. The screening, at Gloria Biograf in Rådhuspladsen, was preceded by a short lecture on gravity by Lucía Vélez Tartajo.

At the Round Tower today, Lorena gave an extraordinary lecture on one of nature's greatest mysteries and the discoveries that are reshaping our understanding of the cosmos: black holes. By the end of the lecture the captivated audience had many interesting (and challenging!) questions to ask Lorena.
Shortly after, at KoncertKirken, in Blågårds Plads, it was time to attend to our "Borrowed Stardust”, through an immersive experience that brought together performative artists, musicians and scientists from the Center of Gravity. The audience was invited to participate and gladly took on the challenge, in a communal experience on the end of time, astrophysics and what lies beyond our knowledge. The workshop at the Round Tower was a massive success, with many people queuing to hear and ask questions about black holes, watch scientific demonstrations, draw black holes, and create artworks with light.
In the afternoon, a packed house at the Café Comic Garden marked the launch of the Black Hole comic book, a beautiful riso-printed edition, which is also available for download here.
The day ended with a stroll to Kogens Nytorv to see the comic book exhibit, followed by dinner at Broens Street Food Market.

After yesterday's Black Hole Comics invasion of Kongens Nytorv, our Copenhagen takeover continues, as demonstrated by this chance encounter in a Nordvest café, courtesy of Christian, who also happens to be Fanny's dad.
Today is also a special day: Happy Birthday, Jose!

The Black Holes comic book show at Kongens Nytorv was installed today. It quickly proved to be a success, with many people stopping to read and admire the art.
