Lucía Vélez Tartajo Wins Best Oral Presentation Award at the MSc Student Symposium
Each year, the Niels Bohr Institute hosts the MSc Student Symposium, an event where master’s students present their research projects and thesis work to their peers. The symposium provides a valuable platform for students to develop their communication skills, while also offering insight into the diverse research carried out across the Institute.
This year the event took place on Friday, March 27, and several students from the Center of Gravity participated in it, presenting their ongoing master’s thesis projects in the form of posters and talks. Among them, CoG member Lucía Vélez Tartajo was awarded the Best Oral Presentation diploma.
In her talk, “How to play a black hole?”, she presented her master’s thesis research, conducted under the supervision of Vítor Cardoso and in collaboration with Jaime Redondo Yuste. The judging committee highlighted her ability to make complex concepts accessible to a broad physics audience, her clear narrative structure, and the enthusiasm she conveyed throughout the presentation.
