The Lars Kann-Rasmussen Prize is awarded annually to an exceptionally talented young individual who has already had very high impact in research and who has or has had close connections to the Niels Bohr Institute.

This year's award was given to CoG Associate Professor Jose M. Ezquiaga. The award committee highlighted Jose's seminal contributions to gravitational physics, including the implications of gravitational wave observations for dark energy and tests of gravity, the formation of black holes in the early universe, and the search for gravitationally lensed gravitational waves.

The award ceremony took place in the historic Auditorium A of the Niels Bohr Institute on February 24. The ceremony was chaired by NBIA director Poul Henrik Damgaard with interventions by Deputy Dean of Science Lise Arleth and Deputy Head of Research Troels Haugboelle. The award was handed by Lars Kann-Rasmussen himself. The ceremony concluded with a brief overview of the scientific aspects of the research presented by the awardee.
